Academic Coordinator, Community Scholars Program
Elizabeth Velez has taught in the English and the Women's and Gender Studies at Georgetown for the past twenty-five years. She is also the Academic Coordinator for the Community Scholars Program--a program that successfully supports first-generation students at Georgetown.
She has authored/edited four volumes of annotated poetry for Hachette publishing. She has worked as a journalist for a national magazine, focusing particularly on issues of sexual assault.
She is currently teaching a class on cultural representations of motherhood and is planning a book on the same subject.
