Amy Friedman serves as U.S. Senator Michael Bennet's chief of staff. She has been working with Bennet since 2019 when she joined his team as the state director in Colorado. Prior to working for Bennet, Friedman served as the president and CEO of Book Trust, a national literacy organization serving low-income students and families. At her core, Friedman is both a learner and educator. This comes from her time working in Denver Public Schools as a teacher and school district leader, including serving as the chief of staff to the superintendent. Friedman is a passionate leader with more than two decades of experience in the public sector and federal government, helping organizations and people tackle their most challenging issues. Doing work that improves other lives is her guiding star. Friedman graduated from Georgetown with a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics in 1997 and a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language in 1998. Amy lives in Denver with her husband and two teen aged children. She loves exploring the world and the outdoor lifestyle Colorado offers.
