Vernice Jones is a co-director of Georgetown’s Institute for Transformation Leadership, an executive coach, and a consultant who often works at the intersection of leadership, DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging), and adult development theory.

Jones believes that leaders can learn to expand their impact through presence, connection, and awareness across contexts. She often works with leaders who transition to new and/or expanded roles, and with leaders in transition from one stage of development to another. With over 15 years of experience working with global, Fortune 500 companies and large nonprofits, Jones creates experiential leadership programs and leadership development solutions that connect and drive business results. She has extensive experience coaching c-suite executives and other corporate leaders, offering a host of services, and comprehensive leadership assessments.

Jones is a director and faculty of Adult Development at Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership. She is an associate at Cultivating Leadership, a global, deliberately developmental, complexity-based organization. She is currently co-faculty of the groundbreaking Leading Inclusively Lab and core faculty of Conversations at the Growth Edge series, both through Cultivating Leadership. Through her executive coaching business, she has been an executive and professional coach for clients in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Jones graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s in economics. She also holds a master’s degree in finance and an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Jones has been designated by the International Coaching Federation as a Master Certified Coach.

Jones created Women’s Circles in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, as she witnessed her clients struggling to deal with grief and anxiety while taking care of others in their lives. Since then, she has led a number of circles for many different groups of senior women leaders, varying in race, faith, and ethnicity.
