Carolyn L. Trabuco has been serving as a Board of Director and Chair of the Compensation Committee for the largest dual-listed publicly traded commercial airline in Brazil, Azul Brazilian Airline, since 2009 She is a financial expert and commercial airline co-founder who was the manager of a commodity-equity portfolio at Phibro Trading/Astenbeck,  an equity long-short portfolio manager and analyst at  Pequot Capital Management, a senior equity research analyst on the sell side (First Union, Montgomery Securities, Lehman Brothers) and also on the buy-side at  Fidelity Management and Research Company.

Carolyn has both domestic and international financing, investing, operating and M&A experience in local stand- alone and large multi-divisional, multi-national companies. Currently as Founder and CEO of Thistledown Advisory Group, she advises and advocates for companies, including MGM Resorts International who are looking to establish business operations in Connecticut. Carolyn has demonstrated professional experience in finance, strategy, commodity hedging, M&A, ESG and sustainability, valuation, performance measurement, succession planning, leadership turnover and compensation across a wide range of industry sectors and economic conditions. She combines judgment, financial discipline and knowledge in a collaborative, friendly and curious manner that adds value to board discussions.

Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History from Georgetown University, Executive Education certificates from Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management and anticipates earning her Masters in Public Administration from Sacred Heart University in 2020. She is actively involved with her local community as the President of the Fairfield PTA Council, an appointed member to the Town of Fairfield Joint Retirement and Pension Board and with activities at the Brooklawn Country Club and Brooklawn Park Association.
