Emily Hull (S’13)
Head of Talent Development
Emily Hull has spent her career dedicated to the alignment of talent, purpose, and passion in the workplace. Currently, she is the head of talent development for the digital organization at Capital One. Prior to joining Capital One, she was the senior director of talent and culture at Optoro, a high-growth technology start-up based in Washington, D.C. In that role, Hull led an industry-leading employee engagement strategy, while also doubling employee size. She launched her career at the Advisory Board Company, ultimately serving as the chief of staff for the account management division.
Hull received her coaching certification from New Ventures West, an integral coaching organization that is steeped in wisdom from philosophy to neurobiology to cognitive science and beyond. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Catholic University, and holds a master’s in Human Resources Management from Georgetown University. Additionally, she studied with the Neuroleadership Institute’s brain-based coaching program.
Outside of work, Hull serves on the Georgetown University Alumni Association Board of Governors, where she led the Career Services Committee for two years and is also founding member of the Hoya Gateway Executive Committee. She and her husband, David, live in Washington, D.C. with their young son, Henry.
